Chapter 17: Foodie part 3

Yesterday was not a great food day. Jess is back to work, so we need to figure out how to navigate the awkward feeding tube conversations.

It’s just a little weird asking a grown adult, “Do you want a feeding now?” So around mid morning I told Jeremy to let me know when/if he wants to do a tube feeding. He said ok … but he never did.

Then at dinner, he took one bite of chicken and started choking. So scary.

Today was better. As soon as he woke up, I told Jeremy I had a class at the Y in 45 minutes. We did a tube feeding and off I went.

For dinner, I thought salmon might work better than chicken - and indeed it did. But still … he is supposed  do five tube feedings a day. We are nowhere near that. His doctors want him eating 3,000 calories a day. I think he is at about 1500.

The goal for tomorrow - two feedings. Plus salmon and mashed potatoes and ice cream and fudge sauce.
